Kid President’s New Book!
Have you seen Kid President’s Pep Talk?
If not, you definitely should watch…almost 35 million views is an indicator of how great it is!
A few weeks ago one of our good friends, who is 9, was trying on a suit for his Aunt’s wedding and broke out and recited this entire speech! His Mom had no idea he had the whole thing memorized – it was so cute.
I was first inspired by Kid President a little over a year ago and shared one of his videos, 20 Things We Should Share More Often. He has over 80 videos published on YouTube.
Since our friend’s break-out Kid President performance, my kids are talking again about his pep talks and positive messages. So the timing was perfect when I was at Barnes & Nobles the other day and saw his new book!! It was a perfect 10th birthday present for my son!
All of my kids were excited when he opened his present with this book and the next thing out of their mouths was that they need to buy it for their good friend! Which made me think, what a great gift idea, I should pass this along!
I love books with positive and inspirational messages, especially for kids, but have had a hard time finding one that my kids connect with.
Until Kid President’s Guide to Being Awesome!!
It’s filled with 100 Ways to Change the World, including a few of my favorites…
4. Be less busy and more awesome
15. Laugh, help end global sadness
16. Follow your passion
17. Treat everybody like it’s their birthday
28. Be somebody who makes everybody feel like somebody
30. Listen more than you talk
37. If you want to be a world changer, be a day maker for the people right next to you
41. Be cool to people even if they’re not cool to you, because somebody was probably not cool to them
56. Love changes everything, so fill the world with it
62. Give the world a reason to dance (it’s everybody’s duty to do that)
69. Write a poem for somebody who doesn’t normally get poems written about them
75. Start with your heart and then just start
81. Do what you like and share it with others
88. It’s okay to get discouraged
93. Take care of yourselves, so you can take care of others
99.Write down your dreams
….and many more great messages in his book!
Kid President (Robby Novak) is an 11-year old boy from Tennessee with brittle bone disease. Most people would have no idea he has had 70 broken bones and 13 orthopedic surgeries and it is one of the things I love most about him and his inspiration!
If you love sharing positive messages and resources, too, keep passing this along!
Love,
Molly
